Self  Description
For  Liu  Lu,  shadow  is  not  a  tool  for  creating  depth  of  field,  nor  a  footnote  to  the  three-dimensional  objects  in  her  paintings,  but  a  motif  created  by  the  interaction  of  different  light  sources.  Liu  Lu 's  paintings  are  inspired  by  some  of  her  visual  experiences  in  photography,  where  she  found  that  multiple  exposures  would  create  new  illusions  by  linking  objects  from  different  times.  By  continuously  superimposing  layers,  the  artist  depicts  the  intertwining  of  light  and  shadow,  and  ultimately  obtains  a  mysterious,  ambiguous,  abstract  image  of  overlapping  reality  and  falsehood.
